By Jessica Slade

Quirindi is a small town in the North West Slopes region of Liverpool Plains shire in NSW.  Also known as the ”Gateway to the North-West”, Quirindi is located just 1 hour from Tamworth and four hours from Sydney. This small town of just over 2,500 people a great setting to raise a family, with a number of primary schools in the area, Quirindi high school, as well as the Quirindi campus of the Tamworth Community College.

With broadacre farming pre-dominant on the black-soil plains to the west, and livestock grazing found in the hilly country to the east, Quirindi presents a number of job prospects to those both established in the area and those looking for a change of scenery.

Quirindi also has its’ share of history with the town’s post office established in 1858 and railway station that has been faithfully serving the district since 1877. It’s a great place for those that like to get involved in the community, with several sporting ovals, 9-hole golf course, swimming complex, polo grounds, rodeo and campdrafting, as well as the racecourse, better known as the “Randwick of the North”.

Not only does Quirindi have any array of sporting options, but just 5kms from town lies the motorcycle club at Stu Johnson Park. The black soil track has a variety of features including whoops, berms and table-tops to cater to every level of rider.
